Hazard

The clothing storage units fail to comply with the stability requirements of ASTM F2057-23 (16 C.F.R. § 1261.2). The dresser is unstable if not properly reinforced, posing a tip-over and entrapment hazard that can result in serious injuries or death to children.

Consumer Remedy

Aitjunz has designed a free retrofit kit (including two 12.68 kg cast iron counterweight blocks and mounting brackets) to improve the bottom stability of the unit.

The retrofit kit is currently undergoing compliance testing (ASTM F2057-23) at a CPSC-accepted laboratory. Upon successful validation, the kits will be provided free of charge to all affected consumers, along with illustrated installation instructions.

Important Installation Note: Both weight blocks must be installed to ensure safety. Installation requires only basic household tools.
